Getting S40 Accessories in Canada

Hi all,

I just got an S40. I'm using it on the Rogers network in the Greater Toronto Area. My problem is that I can't seem to find any decent accessories for this phone.

The Siemans website doesn't seem to ship to Canada. I couldn't find a third party dealer that would either.

Does anyone know of a company that will ship S40 accessories to Canada, or better yet, a company that has an actual store that sells S40 accessories.

I bought my phone at The telephone booth and they didn't have anything except for a really ugly leather case.

I was interested in getting the talk and carry pack and the data cable.

Suggestions?

I'm deciding between the S40 and Nokia 8260. Help me out, man.

How's Rogers' GSM coverage? How's the strength of signal (and what part of GTA do you live in)?

How long does the battery last, especially in stand-by mode? (really important to me)

Did you have a TDMA phone with Rogers and how does the GSM service compare?

Do you have any problems with the phone/service?

Thanks, feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Accessories: if you're looking to shop online check out DayDeal. Good service, but be warned that they're all after-market products. I got their case and car charger, works great. Their headset, well, lets say I returned that... Locally check out SiMPro or even Staples. I paid about CAD$27 for two accessories, compared to the local CAD$45 for one. As long as it works, after-market products work great for me. I might be getting a data cable... if you're interested in how well it works with the phone, email me in a month and I'll let you know.

If you're on Rogers, I'd still consider getting the 8260. It's a phone that everybody likes and you should have good signal there. Rogers GSM is still new and you don't get all those GSM perks like international/cross-network SMS/messaging, roaming, data, etc. Rogers TDMA can send/receive messages to its GSM users and through email, and send messages outside the Rogers network.

I'm using the S40 and I love it. WAP works great for me, computer data connection, what seems to be awesome signal strength, its small and light size, customizable screen icons, infrared and their voice recorder (which is great when you don't have pen and paper handy). It seems many people like the scheduling portion of it too, but I don't use it much.

The battery lasts over 2 days for me. I charge it every 2 days, and sometimes it lasts 3 full days if I don't use it much.

Thanks a lot. I'll try that.
