im with cingular blue now im thinking about switching to tmobile when my contract ends specifically so i can get a sk3, do yall think its worth it? it looks like a cool phone to me and when im with my friends i always use theirs for the aim cuz i dont have much time to play on the internet at home. just wanna get yall's opinions

my alternative to switching to tmobile will be staying with cingular and ill probably renew and get one of those push to talk phones the only problem is maybe 1% of my friends have them so it wont be too much use other than just to play around with

also, i know with cingular when i go overseas i can use the same phone and sim card to do everything as normal, can you do that with a sk3 and tmobile?

SK3 is locked to tmobile. You cannot get it unlocked. It will ONLY WORK with t-mobile...
thanks

the SK3 is a solid device, although its having a few problems to begin with it should be better after a few updates. If you have the money to buy it and pay the monthly bills then you are good to go. Also, before you decide you should check out the coverage maps...to make sure you have coverage.

i know, i meant if i leave the tmo simcard in and i go overseas will i be able to use it, i looked into it and im pretty sure the answer is yes i just want to be 100% sure

yep, definitely you can do that and still keep your data and everything, here is the page:http://www.t-mobile.com/Internation...b_RoamWorldwide

However, I strongly recommend you DO NOT do this, the Sidekick has a data connection that is always on, so you will get charged a lot of money just for having it there, if even don't use the connection at all, you are far better to get something that you can just unlock and use with a prepaid SIM overseas.

thanks, i'd rather not do that though because sometimes i go for a week at a time and it'd be hard to tell everyone i need to tell the new number. is it just the sidekick that does that data connection? if it is i could just get another tmo phone and use the same simcard instead of having to get a different prepaid one right?

you can get any unlocked phone and put your tmo card in and everything should work the same. I believe that there is an option to disable data roaming on the Sidekick too, so in that case it would be only the phone part, but that would still work fine. Be aware also, that when going abroad most of the the rest of the world uses GSM 900/1800/1900, the Sidekick 3 has GAM 850/1800/1900 so you will be lacking one of the bands used there...meaning decreased reception.

hmm thanks for the info ... im still thinking about whether i should get the sidekick or not, the main points of it are the keyboard and the internet i'd say, but its not like i really have to check my email or instant message people all day every day, so i guess ill just have to think about it
