This may sound like a stupid question but i bought a motoQ off ebay - upon plugging it in, its basically dead, no charging screen or activity. I turn it on but it quickly dies out. My question is for all you Q owners or smart people, should i charge it a full 8 hours and then worry that i was sold a bogus phone or should i start worrying now?

If it was a used Moto-q then probably it should have had some charge. Even new phones I've bought usually are tested or the battery has some sort of charge. Sounds fishy and depending on the feedback of the seller you may have been scammed.

I bought one off of ebay also; never again. Phone turned itself off on a regular basis, and then I would have to remove the battery and put it back in to get it to turn on again. Sent it back to Motorola hoping for a replacement; all they did was upgrade the software (it took 3 weeks) plus it now has problems it didn't have before. I already told the seller the day after I got it that it would be coming back if Motorola didn't fix it. Supposedly she will refund my money, but if not, I will just dispute it through paypal. It said in the original ad that she would replace it and I have an email saying she would refund instead. Bummer though, because I love the phone much more than my 6700, so now I will either just get a new one from Verizon with a new line ($99 online with advanced device discount and rebate) or just eat the full retail price. This is the first time I have had an issue with a phone bought off of ebay.
