Hey everbody thanks for looking. I just got hired for cingulars home solutions consultant position. I start training in around a week. I was wondering if anyone has any feedback about this position? Is this a good position to have with cingular? Any tips? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks a lot

Honestly my friend, it's a new position so no one can really tell you much about it except their own experiences selling DSL which btw, mostly isn't positive. If you're not tied down to a quota ( unlikely ) then you're fine. If you are, and the store you're going to be in is a low-volume store and the reps don't give a rats *** about dsl then you might have to pull more weight. Good Luck and Godspeed.

is there a quota? are u getting any activations? do u only sell dsl or do u have to sell any other products/services? do u get commission if u sell anything else?

If you're an HSC, Quit.

Bottom line is you will never make as much as the people around you. You will get depressed. You will quit. Save the time and reapply as an RSC.

My guess is that hsc's will be gone by febuary.

They would need to sell four dsl's a day (4*25 working days * $20 plan) just to break even and there is no way that is going to happen.

My advice is to start learning cingulars products and services and be prepared to take a sales position.

A couple of RSCs got fired at my store. Seems that the only safe position is sales support.

I have been trying to sell thse HSI's for months now. No one wants it. Home Store Consultant... sorry... no one comes to a WIRELESS place to buy cable and internet. And most of our customers we see in the store are pissed at cingular.. have fun convincing them to buy more crap from a company thats pissed them off..
