I have done this in the past with an sp5m and its real simple to remap the keys if you can find the shorcut keys. I have not looked real hard but didn't see any other file that looked promising.

At the home screen, press the back arrow <- key and it will go to the task manager to close or switch between open programs. A quick step rather than going through the menu system. |

. Does anyone know how to get the one that the dash comes with as default? I saw it at the T-mobile store and thought it was very nice. The only problem I had is I used that dialpad image you used for your incall screen becuase I liked it better but I guess the format of mine cut the edge off and pushed it to the left not the center like yours so I had to crop down the dialpad image to make it show up.... Does anyone know if theres an XML page somewhere for the incall screen? im sure theres some formating on there that i could change to make it display better. |

Some are settable in the sounds settings, but one example in paticular is the "Click" sound for keypad control. You have three options: tone, click, and none. I want to use my own. Any ideas on how to do some of this? On my MDA, all I had to do was copy files directly into the windows folder...but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I even tried saving a wav file as "ShutterSound.wav" to replace the camera sound, but it still plays the old one.... So I'm at a loss. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks! |

Shieldzone makes some really nice protectors. I would try them out. The demo shows an Ipod overlay and you can see the picture clearly although its not in direct sunlight. It wouldnt hurt to send them an email asking them or I can do a follow up post as soon as I get my protector in. |

I bought the "whole device" shield and not just the screen shield. Doing this means my device is pretty much "laminated" all over and I don't fret about putting it in my pocket w/ things that could scratch a bare device. If you've seen the demo on their site you really can take a key and hack away at it and it will pretty much come out scratch free. I was worried about the original rubbery coating on the Dash, but so far after more than a week I actually like the feel and look of the Dash w/ this stuff more. Imagine that the Dash now has a "wet/glossy" look - although it's not slippery at all and still has a smooth yet "grippy" element to it. Most people who complain about the Shieldzone had application problems - but after covering my T809, my wife's Motorola Q, and now my Dash with the stuff I can pretty much do it now dust and bubble free. I found that if the corners/ends of the material don't tack down properly (you've got oil from your fingers on it/you didn't prep the surface of the device properly/you didn't trim enough off and it's overlapping) that it eventually will start to come off at that point. This happened on my T809 so I stripped everything but the screen protector off. If you think you can cut your own, you can can actually buy sheets of the same material from other sources (I bought some from invisiblemask.com) BTW- I think this stuff works best on items that don't require stylus input like smartphones or phones. Being a bit thicker than those other screen protectors, the material might affect the way the stylus works on a touchscreen. |
