T-Mobile Dash and Apple Computers

Hi:

I am currently a Verizon Wireless customer. I am thinking of switching over to T-Mobile for their new Dash phone. This will be my first smartphone. I have an Apple computer and I was wondering if Missing Sync has a download for the dash yet. How is missing sync sofware? Is is easy enough to use? Would I be able to download my ical, contacts and mail easy enough to the dash?

Do you recommend the pearl over the dash?

Do you have the Mac Intel? I have an Intel Macbook and I run Windows XP Pro under Parallels. It works flawlessly syncing with my SDA and now my Dash. If you don't have an Intel Mac then I've heard Missing Sync works with the Dash. As far as the Pearl, I wouldn't get it over the Dash. JMO!

The Missing Sync should support the Dash just fine.

I was in a similar position -- a Mac User considering TMo's Dash, Pearl, and the regular BB 8700.

I looked at the Pearl in the store. It's really a beautiful little device. But I played with the keyboard and it's predictive text function. For me the keys were just too small (and I don't need reading glasses yet...) and the SureType thing was just too distracting. (Admittedly, though, I am sure this would get better with more use).

Initially I ended up getting a BB 8700 which synced okay with my MacBook using the free PocketMac. I ended up returning the 8700 several days later when the Dash came out. The PIM (calendar and contacts) on the BB were just too rudimentary -- all the info is there, but it's displayed in a very rudimentary way. And I like tinkering with my phone and there really isn't much software out there for the BB

I have the Dash now and love it. I'm using Mark/Space Missing Sync . (They don't have the Dash listed in their supported device list, but they have the Moto Q and the program works fine with the Dash). No sync problems whatsoever.

Take a look at the Dash and the Pearl in person. Physically they are very different.

Using the missing sync are you able to transfer info from ical and iphoto easily enough?

iCal and Addressbook work great. I hadn't tried syncing iPhoto pics but just tried it out and works great.

(To sync with iPhoto, you open iPhoto, then File>Export, then selected the "Windows Mobile" Tab).

I use Missing Sync for both my Axim - windows 2003 and i320n WM5 and it works great

Hmmm, slightly of topic but is there a way to use dash/WM smartphones as a modem with mac or even linux?

Yay, dash is in the mail... hurrah $50 dash...

Cheers
