Has anyone tried these things out?

I had one of those things. Didn't lasts very long, besides it's not good for your cell phone to be put under direct hot sun, car dashboard gets hot very easily.

I hope its not spam; but yea I see these all the time at the check out counters at office supply stores. I wouldn't do it because everything in a car should be secured for the safety of the driver. In addition, there's no way I'm attaching anything to my dashboard - it'd be like sticking bumper stickers on my car! No thanks.

I have an Arkon mount for my iPod and Cell phone. Best mount I have ever owned.

Put one on the back of my Blackberry. Amazing the way it would stay on the dash. Bell World was selling the egrips (same idea) for two dollars (with all proceeds going to sick kids) a couple years ago.

these things don't work when lateral G is 1.0....

but seriously...
the grip eventually wears off...
and they don't look that nice...
