Has anyone noticed tha after installing certain RSS software on a laptop and the Moto USB drivers that standby no longer works?

Anyone with a solution?

I have the same problem on my laptop. Anyone know?

All laptops have that problem, you have to edit the regestry.

Try This http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en

I tried that MS tip w/my gateway laptop but it didn't work. I even installed xp pro on another older hard drive to test. Turns out I had to stick with gateway's version of home edition reinstalled through a recovery DVD I purchased thru gateway. The funny thing is I don't remember if standby/hib stopped working after I upgraded to 1gb or upgraded home to pro, I did both in the same wk.

yeah that update is for computers with no services pack. I also just recently upgraded my laptops ram to 1.5 gig. Not sure if that was the problem. I am going to try and remove some of the ram and see what happens.

Try this: First delete any USB to RS232 bridge you might have, then go to Device Manager, chose "View" from menu bar and "Show Hidden Devices". Find "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" and expand the tree, find WinRT and disable it, reboot. See if your Standby option comes back.

Someone responded to me with this method on another forum, not sure if it was you are not but thanks for the tip. I did not try it. What I did was copy the motorola folder in my program files folder. Unistalled all the iden software, copied the moto folder back to program files and everything works with standby being enabled.

Thanks for the heads up on the tip. I will try it when I update my iden software

It wasn't me, but this happened to me a few times before, and it was research, trial-and-error that brought me to this solution.

Most of the time it is a driver compatibility/non-plug-and-play issue.

Good luck

BTW, thanks again for the other thing...
