(alltel) razr headphones used on krzr?

i had a pair of razr motorola headphones givin to me (not the nock off headphones either), and was wondering why they wont work on my krzr....they have the same mini usb port and fit fine into it....so whats the issue? i also had a set of razr car chargers givin to me that are working fine... so is it me or am i doing somthing wrong? thanks alot!
