hi everyone, got the s55, its MAGNIFICENT!!! but...
how come when i allocate an mmf (bugle) for an alarm clock melody, it doesn't activate it...
im trying to have a "sleeping" profile where im asleep, the tones are all off except alarm so i can wake up from alarm, and not phone calls or messages
i just get something that sounds like the siemens swing midi instead... but when i have it on normal profile it works
help meeeeeeeee PLEASE
its got firmware 05 on it too
thank you to anyone that can help me

On the left hand side of your fone if you click up onced you get all the profiles just set your profile of cutomize it by pressing options then clickon change settings... you should be able to oput your bugle or whatever tone you choose for your alarm

the only settings i got in SETUP after clicking a profile as you instructed are
Ringer Setting (on, off, beep)
Volume
Silent Alert
Call Screening
Info Tones
Key Tones
Illumination
Big Letters
if i put ringer setting on, sure the alarm will work, but so will the other ringtones (the point is to just have alarm working, and not the others
heh im being very difficult aren't i? sorry)
if there was an option for the ringing and messaging tones in the volume section to actually mute them individually, different story
see if you can help me out there please

go into menu 9-2-4-4 and menu 9-2-4-5 is the sound you want as an alarm selected? If not select it and see if that works
Posted by: d0nkeyk0ng
thats the thing, it is already selected as the bugle
but when i test the alarm out to see if it plays the bugle in the Sleeping Profile, it plays what sounds like SiemensSwing instead (and i aint even got it on my memory)
would i need to perhaps format my memory to fix the problem?
or
upgrade the firmware?
or
is that siemens swing melody a defaulted ringtone that is allocated if nothing else is?

I have used menu 9-2-4-4 and menu 9-2-5-5 and put a voive tone saying Wake the F*** up!! and it works for me... I don't get the Siemens swing when the alarm goes off regardless of what mode my fone is in.... not sure...... anyone else?????

hmmm something to give siemens a call about i guess?
thanks for your help anyways.. it seems no one else has that problem or a solution, i appreciate ur help syncere...
i will let ppl know in this post if it was a success when calling siemens

Aternative tip. If your only goal is to get the Alarm working while you are sleeping, why dont you just shut down the phone and let it on your normal profile ? the Alarm works even when your phone is OFF.

good point, VERY good point... but the advantage to that is that i can't recieve missed calls or messages either
s45 allowed me to have all that:
phone was on, all tones were off except alarm so i was then able to recieve missed calls and messages thru the night

sorry to hear you didn't get it workin...
any other tips at all for this???????

Call or write Siemens about this.
You seem to be the only one with this problem, so it has probably something to do with your phone (hardware), not with the software I guess.

so upgrading it to a later version of firmware wouldn't do much? i.e. version 8?
Posted by: Synncere
you can try it and see if that helps... if not I'd contact Siemens about it or if the store where you bought if offers an exchange then do that...

synncere, what version software u using?
Posted by: Synncere
I'm still using s/w vsn 04. I've been thinking about upgrading but haven't yet... I had planned on doing it this weekend but will hold off until I am in Europe in the next few weeks and get it done there at my friends shop
