My Audiovox SMT5600 phone just died, so I'm in the market for a new one. I'm thinking of getting the Cingular 2125 (which looks like its successor), but I just wanted to make sure that there isn't something cool coming up on the horizon that I should wait out for. Is WM6 coming soon? Any nice smartphones that arent bricks?

an updated WM version should be coming out soon... January i hear. That's just cosmetic tho for the most part but the next big upgrade isn't till next christmas so i can say your safe on the WM5 phones (some of which might be upgradeable! I certainly hope the Cingular 3125 is since they upgraded it with 128MB of ROM!!! 64MB might not have been enough for an upgrade but the 128MB should more than fit!)

Which WM5 phone is another topic but i guess it comes down to looks and a few must have features (Wifi is one but not for me) I would go to phonescoop.com and use their phone finder. Select all the features that matter (mind you coverage is most important so don't get a 1900/1800/900mhz phone if you're on AT&T/Cingular or even T-Mobile. It says AT&T up there so stay away from phones without 850mhz GSM)

I have a Imate SP5 and I like it alot, but I really want something thats a touch screen.

Touch screen seems like a huge times saver and also doesn't wear down buttons or joystick.

I seen alot of overseas Pocket PC's that are now a small as my SP5 that have touch screen.
