Dash USB cable vs generic USB cable

When I use the cable that came with the Dash, I can charge and sync on my home PC. When I use a genric cable, I can only charge. It doesn't even recognize that the Dash is connected.

Has anyone else experience this?

I'd check the connections to make sure they are setting tightly. If it is a bona-fide usb cable, it should work. I use the Belkin travel/reel type with no problems. You might just have a bad cable.

Thanks for the reply.

I accidently hit the green call key when I picked it up (still connected) and it started to sync. Unplugged it and tried again and the exact same thing happened (charge but no sync but then it started to sync after I hit the green call button).

Strange but as long as this works, I don't care.
