How do you set up internet access via ActiveSync

Hi,

I have a HTC s620. It works fine connecting to the internet via EDGE or WLAN. But, when I have the unit connected via USB cable to my computer (and with ActiveSync 4.2 running ) I cannot access the internet. I get a message that my connection to the internet is not configured. I am assuming this is because the phone is detecting the ActiveSync connection and attempting to use this connection rather than EDGE. Is this correct? If so, how do I configure this connection?

Thanks,

jerry

it's working fine for me without any configuration... but in ActiveSync, under File / Connection Settings, change the setting of "This computer is connected to" to "The Internet" instead of leaving it "Automatic".

that may help you...

Thanks. I got it fixed. Under "Settings | Connections | more | USB to PC" there is a checkbox that reads "Enable advanced network functionality". Unchecking the box made the connection work.

Since the registry entry reference in the post sets a value to 0 the checkbox may make the same change.
