Blackberry Unlimited internet plan + Bluetooth modem...

I set up my Pearl to act as a bluetooth modem. I read on another site that the unlimited internet plan should cover this and not cause any unwanted charges, but I just talked to a T-mobile worker and he said that the bluetooth modem feature was not supported by the Pearl. Does this mean that there could be some kind of hidden charges that will rack up on my monthly bill? Trying to take as much precautions as possible! Thanks!

You can use the Pearl as a modem. This link may help you.

If you're worried try using it to download only a few webpages and wait until your bill comes.

Thanks Synncere, I already have the Pearl setup with my Powerbook. The bluetooth modem function does work. I'm just worried that there might be some hidden charge that I don't know about since T-Mobile claims that this is not a feature available to the Pearl. One source said that it should not have any more charges other than the Blackberry Unlimited $19.99 monthly fee, but I'd though I'd ask around some more.
Thanks forcedfx. That's good advice, though I sure want to use the Pearl as a modem sooner than that! I've been checking my online statement, but not sure if these charges (if they exist) will pop up on there or only on my mailed hardcopy of the bill.

I don't work for TMO so take what I say with a grain of salt. TMO is ok with tethering on their Blackberry data plans. I don't see why tethering via BT would be any different.

Thanks briareus. Just want to hear the same thing over to make sure. Don't want to pay a $200+ cell phone bill

how do you use the blackberry as a modem?

I work for TMO and have been using my Pearl as modem for a couple of months now. I've also hooked up my little brother's Pearl along with my cousins and assure there are no extra charges. Only difference is that I am using my data cable for connection, there shouldn't be any additional charge for connecting via bluetooth. Hope this helps

I don't even think TMOB would have any way of knowing whether you've tether physically or via bluetooth in the first place. I have been using my pearl as a modem (I did it for a week straight... streaming audio and everything.. waiting for my internet connection to come right after I moved). I haven't seen any unusual charges.
It's definately a cool feature! SLIGHTLY faster than dialup (imho anyways). If we were able to use 3g, I can honestly say I would use my phone as the primary internet connection at home (save some money).
