Cellantenna.com came out with adapters for the S46 but they did not work, and to this day, the only external antenna adapter that appears to work is the cradle one from Siemens. (bulky and expensive).

If anyone get an adapter from the alternative wireless site for the S46 please post up...

Try www.wilsonelectronics.com. The have an antenna connector for the S46, recently released. Wilson makes quality equipment.

I wish they had a photo of it. Most of these adapters are made by other companies.

I have a Wilson external antenna adapter for a Nokia 6360 and one for the StarTac 7868 and both work perfectly and have very tight fits. If you have doubts, give them a call on their toll free number.

My antenna is the Wilson Dual-Band Magnet Mount Model 301-103, which has a metal whip and is somewhat taller than the minimag. It works as well as my glass mount from Antenna Specialists.

I bought the wilson electronics adaptor and dual-band mag-mount antenna from Bob at wpscellular.com, and they work great. I don't have the wilson electronics adaptor part #, nor a picture of the thing, but they work great as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks. I was just making arrangements with cellantenna.com on getting a refund for the defective adapter I bought from them. I think I will keep the cellantenna.com antenna and just buy the S46 adapter from Wilson.

Well I just got the wilson adapter, and it already makes a noticably better connection.

With the antenna mounted on my "tower" outside and the phone in my room:
TDMA850 went from -93 to -87
GSM1900 went from -102 with only one sector/control channel being heard (and occasionally going into network search) to -93 with ALL 6 slots of adjacent channels filled.

The connector is visually IDENTICAL to the one I originally ordered from cellantenna.com.
After the initial difficulty of inserting and removing the connector, I was worried the same thing would happen. But it appears the little white ring is made out of something much stronger. It got easier to put in and out, but not to the point of being insecure.
