November sucks

the month is already starting off bad. third day in the new month. only one new activation and its prepaid. 3 ops and they are upgrades with no features. accessories are bad. i know its only the beginning, but i hate starting the new month in the red. can anyone say SAM?

Ouch, I've done 17 opps in 4 days and I'm not very happy about that. My accessories and features arent good but I will bring that up before the end of the month. I expect for this to end up to be a good month for me, it was last year anyway.

I gotta say while it is not a busy as it usually is the sales coming in are so much better. Im not getting many of the tdma migs and it seems this month people are buying features so much more then other months. Its right before the holidays people are saving up. i expect most of my opps to come from the last week of the month.

Ok, Saturday was much better. I activated four new numbers, 2 of which or contracts with rate plans of 59.99 and $15 of features each. I had two pay as u go, but i needed the gross ads and my accessories should be a little better.

November is looking good for me.

October was good.

over 40 -acts/ups

over 80 features

over 1,600.00 in accessories.

800.00 dollars in carrier deposits !!! <!~ if you can close those deposit required activations. I give you Kudos.

Not starting good for me either, i have about 5 new activations, buy features suck. Mostly just phone insurance and boring stuff. Only a few accesories also. I expect buisness to pick up towards the middle of this month, and up until christmas. Even a few weeks after, all the kiddies have money to blow.

Just remember guys (as someone who used to be in the biz)...early November, traditionally can be a pretty tough time for sales (although you still got to do your best to stretch and do other things to get those activations)....the closer to Thanksgiving time...the better it will be. And then that Turkey weekend through Christmas will be nuts.

Hang in there...but you're getting close to when you can make some real money!

This month hasn't been bad for us... we are trending 117% of goal. You just gotta make the best of every sale, and give a clear reason to choose Cingular over the rest (not that you aren't doing that already, but this is working for us).

Good luck though, I'm sure you guys will knock it out!

No offense man, but exactly how long have you worked for Cingular and what volume of kool-aid have you drank?

That's just the way that post came across.

If you've been working for a long with with the big orange splat then well, I personally would be offended if someone came along and spat that crap at me. You sound like you're fresh outta new hire training though. If not, then god I wanna work in your market because if you've managed to hang on to THAT attitude for any length of time that's where I wanna be.

Thats funny...

I've been working in the industry for 3 years and its usually slow the first part of november. Just sit tight do what your suppose to do, and wait for black friday and that weekend to boost your november sales!!! *Dreams of the commission checks to come * I cant wait lol ... usually the 2 best checks for commission of the year come from november and december, just my personal expericience.

i think that i've broke even today. i had two upgrade with only insurance features. finally, i ported a number today and sold an 8125 with the PDA unlimited package. so, i guess today was fair.

This May will be 4 years for me. What can I say, I just always have a positive attitude, and my store always does well. I can tell you that in my market many many times no other stores are even close to goal, and we are above it. And I have been at more than one location, so it isn't just having a good store. It is all what you make of it. Oh and yes, I do drink the kool-aid. Mmmmmmm.... I even bleed orange... and blue now too

wtf??? my coworker hit so many features today, i mean jackpots. he had PDA connects, 2 mediaworks (non-ops), blackberry connect, . and i had a measly insurance feature with 1 op. today really truly sucked for me.

today, was much better. finished the day with 2 ops during a 5 hour shift. sold a PDA connect package with a nokia E62 (cool phone) and an upgrade with only insurance, but i made up for it with a 14.99 non-op from a paystation customer. not the best day and certainly not the worst.

The month started off slow for me but has picked up. I have 14 adds, 30 opps, 55/opp on acc, 16.00/opp on features, and 43% 59.99 rate plan attainment which it above all of our quotas for those metrics.

What market are u worknig in? 70 opps in 9 days seems a little high, and acually averaging 17 per opp in features is a lot. How many of those opps are adds?

I'm NCA Bay area.

60 opps so far, 20 of which are adds. 20 FPO, 56 APO. So cal boys are good no doubt y'all got serious traffic down there. NCA holds it down too ya know bro .

That sounds like a pretty busy store. The top people at my store hve 22 acts, 50 opps and $300 in features.

It's not a bad month for me but October might actually be better in terms of take home pay.

I'm guessing you work at the palo alto or santa clara store?

same bs happened to me yesterday. I was heated! But I told hernstr8 up that I would be reconsile that sub b/c she didnt sell anything. He just walked in and told her what he wanted. I happened to stop by the store to check the shedule and saw him at her desk.

now i have 134 opps. there is nothing fishy, if you get traffic and you work hard!
i work in torrace, ca. South Bay - look it up on dsr if yuo think i am a liar.
but this month is slow, we have to squeez everything out of the cust.....

for the month, i have over 30 ops, 15 adds, but features and accessories are horrible at the moment. my co-workers keep telling me that it'll pick up towards the end of november. i'm just worried about getting the gross ads @ the moment.

I paltry 25 opps for me, but my market isn't exactly big, so it's not a bad start really.

My features are at 26.08 per opp though so I'm real happy about that. Accessory commission really doesn't do much for me so I'm not overly concerned there but I think I'm probably around 36.

I am killing myself trying to get my fearture's above 17.00. A lot of this is due to all the TDMA customers comming in. It seems like half of my opps are TDMA people and they want a 39.99 plan and nothhing more.

Yeah, I'm actually kind of thankful for being an agent on that one. They come in wanting the phone in that offer and I get to send them to a COR location. Yeah I miss an opp, but at least my numbers dont tank.

you're not alone, because thats all i've been doing all last month and then some. i struggle to get an insurance feature with those customers.

Well, we've kinda changed things at our store...Instead of a 20 dollar instant discount with data feature purchase, we offer 30 for anything 10 bucks or up. Of course we knocked the phone's price up 10 bucks before any rebates, but the customer sees 30 bucks off and yeah they jump on it. And generally they'll jump on it for the MW.

Also doing that in conjunction with the bundled rate plan brochures, which have the cost included makes the customer feel like we're going above and beyond just because they take a rate plan...And so far it's a good stick rate.

OMG. today was the worst day ever!!! 6 ops and 9.99 in features. this lady upgraded two lines from a TDMA network and only got insurance features, but got lots of accs though.

another cust came a ported two new numbers from sprint, but didn't get any features and only purchased a measely case. 2 new activations though.

another guy came into the store a got a prepaid number. no acc.

right after that customer, another prepaid customer activated a number. no accs.

2 upgrades + 4 gross ads = 6 ops

my features are gonna flop this month.

I have 30 (20 post, 10 pre) gross adds this month...and 9 upgrades...39 total opps. I'm in a very slow store. I'm around 15.5/opp in features and 52/opp in accessories. My features are pretty low for me, I've been over 20 the last couple of months. rate plan mix is around 60 and 45

I love November and December, and its only getting better I've had 2 business customers come in for phones for there companys. Ones a T-Mobile customer wit some jacked up old dinosaur Blackberries and wants 30 lines but its only if Cingular service is better than T-Mobile's so he took 5 for his office people and if they work well then next monday there doing the other 28!!! Hes getting 64.99 international blackberry add-ons and world connect on each and there all individual plans!!! *Dreams of the commission check for that one* Then i got another customer who added the 8525 and wants 6 more of them with pda unlimited and messaging extreme before christmas for his office all ports from Whorizon. Hopefully that will be before the end of the month *Dreams some more* So in all today was a good day and this just makes black friday and this weekend gravy!!!

So how did you guys do today, i heard it was slow in some places, here we did decent me personally i did 12 wit about $19 bucs per line in features. My accessories hurt like no other today i only did 2 thats gonna screw my average up but oh well Store did 29 lines so i feel good that i accounted for almost half the lines out
