Does anyone know how to change the default tones that are used for various alerts on the PPC-6700? I have made numerous mp3 ringtones, that work great, but I have not been able to figure out how to assign them to alerts and reminders. What do I need to do to change this?

Same here. The wimpy alerts for SMS and email notifications are the rest I will be returning this, if I cannot find a way to set new ones in there.
In my business I HAVE to know when I get an SMS or email, perhaps even wake me up.
I would not hear these wimpy beeps even if I was wide awake with the phone shoved against my ear. (exaggeration, but you get my point)

I got it to work -- just upload a wav file to the Windows dir.
Does anyone know what format these files need to be in? 90% of the mids, wma, and wav's don't work
I have only been able to get ONE wav to work of all files i've tried. And that's the wav from teh windows pinball game.

And does anyone know how to make the notifications repeat?

If you want a quick, 10 second, loud ring, search for sound9 on windows. Use a wav merger to merge this sound a few times.

I have yet to try any of your suggestions, but as soon as I do, I will let you know how it turns out.

I was able to get new sounds by choosing mono when i converted the files to .wav. also used 8 bit i believe. this has worked every time for me. they will work for alerts, alarms, ect.
