Can one of you folks that know about all this tell me if you HAVE to get the internet access with T-Mobile to use the sidekick handset? All I need it for is regular calling and text messaging? In other words I would only want to do the things on the sidekick that you could do on a Razr, calls, text, photo msg, and t-zones. The rep at T-Mobile says that you have to get the $20 a month plan to go wiht the sidekick. I have access to an unlocked model so all I would be doing in slaping my sim card in and off I go. So,,,yes or no on my plan. If there is something different about this handset and I cant do those things then I think that I would pass on it and just pick up a Pearl. The big reason is for the keyboard for texting.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Why are you even going through a T-mo rep if you have a device already?

You can use the Sidekick with only voice services, but it defeat the whole purpose of the device.

yes, and you wont have pic messaging [we use SMS gateways sent via Email]

and the fact that everytime time the battery dies or it restarts you lose all of your data not saved to the sim card because Danger's servers cannot back up your devices information.

The 20.00 a month is worth it.

Cool, thanks for the info. that is what I needed to hear. I talked to the T-mo rep in an attempt to gain the info you provided me. I just happened to be walking by the store at the mall so I thought I would ask. As usual they know very little about the nuts and bolts of things.
