sk3 durability

i dropped my sidekick 3 for the first time today. it was bad. the screen flipped open as it hit the floor. i might even lose some sleep over it. 
ok so how durable are sk3's? anyone ever had one go crazy after dropping it? what's the weakest link in the design? im just looking for a little peace of mind. HELP!!!

On myspace, someone was filling up their car with gas and put their sidekick 3 on top of the car. then they drove off and was behind a slow moving vehicle. so they turned and pushed on the gas then the sk3 fell off. She picked up the side silver pieces but everything still worked. it was just really scratched up. But she got a skin and covered it all up.
