SMT5600 - sound issues, pls help!

Hello all.
After owning my beloved smt5600 for a year and a half and absolutely having no issues with it, two days ago it developed a problem with outgoing audio - people can't hear me on the other end - the sound is very distorted and muffled. I can hear everyone just fine. Same thing happens when I use my BT headset. Rogers claims that everything looks good on their end - saying it's a hardware problem.
Has anyone experienced anything similar with their smt5600? What is a good repair shop for this phone in the GTA?
