This phone is for sprint...is it any good? I'm likely to go with a brand i've heard of when I get a phone for work (my work uses sprint :-( verizon is better).

Is the Katana good quality?

I have a Katana and have had no problems with it. Seems to be a solid phone. Lacks all the bells a whistles, but is easy to use.

The Katana is a good phone. If you're looking for a featurezoid it's not it though. Just a good solid phone with great reception and an even better looking display (too bad you just can't do anything with it). I've been happy with mine.

Did you really shoot your V60 :-O I seriously considered doing that to my last Moto.

I bought the Katana a few weeks ago, mainly because it was a camera phone and tri mode. I like the phone, and it's easy to use.
The only problem is those slimey weasels at Bell Canada have blocked access to the pictures, ringtones and contacts folders. Nobody has any USB cables here yet. (ebay in the USA seems to have lots). With a Bluetooth Dongle I can only access the phone to use as a dial up modem or to send a "business card". (Like I really need the business card feature, ya right)
The only way you can take pictures out of the phone is to upload them to Bell's website at 50 cents each.
Had I known that, I would have never bought this phone. I should have been reading this bulletin board first.
Now I feel like tying the phone to a brick and throwing it through their window, with 50 cents of course. LOL
But I will just have to wait untill someone cracks the software.

Yeah I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the way the phone is locked down. Seems the only way you can get pictures or ringtones to it is only via paying for it. I have to agree that its a really solid good phone, but why they decided to lock the phone as they did is beyond me (other then thinking about making more money). Like previously stated, I'm just hoping we'll find a software around that problem. Cheers.

Hey man read my post in this thread:

I've uploaded about 15 ringtones now and a few wallpapers by that method and have yet to have a problem.

Hope this helps.

When moving from the Sanyo 8200, to this phone, would is 'lose' any feature?
Would I gain any features?

I am looking to replace a 8200, and most likely stay within the Sanyo brand due to:
- Not being forced in to 'power vision' on Sprint, I want to keep standard Vision
- Previous experience with Sanyo
- They "take a linkin' and keep on tickin'"
- Best 'fringe' reception phones I have seen from Sprint

Now does this new line change that perception?
