I just bought a P990 from Amazon.com($650 w/ 10% off coupon). I would like to change it form English only to English & traditional Chinese. I know the phone needs to be flashed. Can anyone recommend a place in L.A. area?

no, I tried updating the phone and the option to add other languages is not available.

have you tried updating with the hk/china firmware? my phone came with simplified and traditional chinese.

There is no need to flash your phone if you just need to read Chinese on your P990.

While we're on topic, how do I make it so that I DON'T have Chinese on the phone? It doesn't seem like I can disable the Chinese input while keeping the English input.

I use the keyboard now, only because the hand recognition is REALLY slow compared to my P910 or P800 due to the dual language mode.

Try tapping the bottom left button and then tapping the space bar. It should toggle back and forth between 'latin' and 'pinyin'.

hm. didnt make a difference. i still cant write a period with the stylus. good try tho.

i thought u said you were inputting w/ kb

w/ the stylus.......top right when you are typing there should be a chinese character when you are 'writing'. says "zhong" or "ying"....make sure you've toggled the right character when writing.
