Why is the "fire red" V3r less expensive than the V3i?

i was looking at cingular's site today to see if they put the samsung a707 up there, and i saw that they added a new music phone. but when i looked, all it was, was the red V3i. but for some reason, it is $100 less than the normal V3i. as far as i can tell, they are both basically the same. seems to me like cingular is just trying to bank some money off the "itunes" razr.

On my premier it is $70 less $129 vs $199

The only thing i can think of, which really sucks, is that maybe apple is charging a premium to license itunes?

No itunes, no memory card included, no data cable, no software, no headset, no headset adapter.

Basically the v3r only comes with the home charger.

The V3r is the same plain-old vanilla phone as the original RAZR. That's why it's cheaper (less features).

The rumor I've read is that the only difference between them is a more updated hardware and firmware which is more battery efficient and faster menu response and processing speed. Oh, and the other thing is that the V3r can record video something I believe the original RAZR never did.

the v3r is a non-tunes v3i. plain and simple.

the only difference is the itunes.

fire red looks cool

Think of the V3i as an Ipod and the V3r as an mp3 player pretty much the same thing only the i-tunes

lol, so they are charging $100 for itunes. pretty messed up

Did you not read my post?

Sorry for my post above. I was going by the fact that the V3r on T-mobile is the same old RAZR as I stated. The V3r that Cingular sells is more advanced thant the T-mobile's.

The second generation Tmo V3r razr is different the Cingular V3. 2 totally different SW from one another and can not be used with one another on unlocked phones. R3443U2 = V3r and R374 for the Cinguar and first generation Tmo V3

The V3t on the other hand from Tmo for the most part is a V3i without iTunes just like the V3r from Cingular.

Now that's really confusing! Why don't they just standardize to use the same letters in the model for all carriers?
