Is there a way to upload pics from your email to the 245 without the use of a USB cable? Or do I have to buy the USB cable (and software if it comes with it)?

I just bought one also and am looking for a data cable for files upload/download (photos,wallpapers,ringtones ect...) Let me know if you find one. I've asked a couple of ebay.ca sellers butthey say it's untested on a LG 245 (cable for a VX-5300)

Telus actually blocked and restricted all USB access to all their phones, so the only way to transfer it is to send it to your email or something like that...there way of making money from you...ive tried connecting my Telus phones to my computer using a USB cord and zero luck...only way was to send it to my email...><

I have a telus (samsung sch-a950) phone you can hack into this one via usb cable many steps though.

I am also checking to see if someone has hacked the lg245

Thanks bigshowjh, any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried buying a bluetooth dongle but could not get it to work with bitpim. The phone was detected and paired but bitpim would not reconize it.

Did you try using QPST 2.7 build 91? I tried bitpim on my samsung sch-a950 phone it reconized it but no success. Qpst 2.7 build 91 worked well for me on that phone. As well i needed unicdma 1.098 to get my spc code to access the phone. SPC code is like the master code to access the phone. U use the Spc number you get with unicdma in QPST explorer to access the file system.

I am still checking around to see if anyone has had any success with the lg 245 before i buy the usb data cable.

Latest bitPim works for LG 245.
I used it with bluetooth because I do not have that data cable,
which is supposed to be the same as for vx8300.
BTW, you should chose vx8300 in bitPim as well.
