Take the MTR to Mong Kok and use exits D2 or D3 and ask for directions towards Sin Tat Shopping Centre. It lies on the busy Argyle Street. Or if you don't want to ask, get out at D2, look around nearby for some big Lego like figures walk straight ahead, cross the road (often filled with minibuses) and you should see a smoothies stand, carry on walking and you should see some bus stops on your side of the road... you should start to see cellphone shops around. I'll post pictures of the area nearby if you want - just ask

If it's Euro firmware it will work with all functions on Voda NZ's network if you add the right MMS and WAP data profiles. If it's any other firmware it will still work fine but you won't get full access to Vodafone live.

Go to the standby screen.

If there's no menu bar at the bottom (only icons), you're using JP firmware.
If there's a black menu bar at the bottom with icons, you're using Euro firmware.
If there's a red menu bar at the bottom with icons, you're using HK or TW firmware.

Where can I get my hands on the Euro firmware? I'm using the JP firmware in New Zealand but also cannot access vodafone live (sits at a white screen) and whenever I press the menu button it starts doing re-provisioning. Also noticed that the jp firmware can only play aac (mp4), not mp3's.. Any help would be appreciated

The other way is just to see what languages you can change the phone to!!

Not sure what languages a TW phone would have.... is it the same Simp and Trad Chinese as HK but with different branding?

Yeah it's the same languages, that's why I prefer explaining the menu bar rather than the languages list.

You probably have to get the internet settings from Vodafone-NZ when you get home - unless there are someone who knows he settings here.

Lamplighter is from NZ... he will probably have the settings.

I've set the email, WAP setting...
actually the problem is if my friend in Japan send me an email via her mobile fone (Vodafone email, 902SH) i get an txt msg from vodafone...and I can read
but actually I cannot read a whole email so if I download the email and it comes out with the blank page..!!!

and found out that if I go to the option in Hotmail and change the language option to korean or whatever other than Eng ...it also ends up with showing the blank page..

if I got the email from the Eng mail provider...it shows clearly...

I rang vodafone..NZ..but they were useles...

is there anything i can solve this problem?

try viewing hotmail on a laptop.
