Has anyone gotten this combo to work? I'm using Exchange ActiveSync to sync calendar, contacts, and e-mail. I'd like to do Notes via SyncML too, but even if I delete Exchange ActiveSync, I get a 'Unknown Error' message when I try to do a Remote Sync. Params are EXACTLY as 4smartphone wants.

SyncML works with mobical, but I'm having problems with 4smartphone.

Any ideas?

I also have a 4smartphone account. I tried using their SyncMl option as well with both my M600 and P990. It just doesn't work. Tech support and I went back and forth just last week on this same issue. They don't know why we recieve the error. It is supposed to be a sync "standard"; however there seems to be variations.

I am now thinking about switching to another syncml server as backup. I stopped using activesync and switched to the BBC. Although the email portion rocks, I do miss the auto-sync of my calendar and contacts. Since I am only using BIS, I cannot sync my contacts or calendar.

Mobical works great with my p990, but it does not do e-mail.

Exchange ActiveSync seems to be the only way to get the p990 to work with a Mac (using Entourage) reliably. Since nothing but Windows Mobile or Blackberry really does categories properly, I keep the mac's categories current.

I wonder if this a SyncML 1.1 vs. 1.2 thing? I've read that the UIQ3 devices support SyncML 1.2. Maybe 4smartphone is still using 1.1 only servers and something like mobical is using 1.2?

I e-mailed 4smartphone's support desk.

Well, here's the reply - Let's see, interest? I'm a paying customer. Anyways, looks like we're SOL. Exchange ActiveSync/RoadSync does not do Notes and Tasks, nor Categories even though these are ALL possible, or else how does WM5 or Outlook 2003 via http proxy/OWA do it? Did licensing ActiveSync only give them part of the sync capability?

I'll check with DataViz as well to see if their roadmap will support these in my lifetime.

Thanks for your interest in 4SmartPhone.

We currently have SyncML 1.1 .

Unfortunately, we cannot really help you on the SyncML front with those phones becasue as it supports ActiveSync, which is far superior, and much faster, we have not even tested SyncML with the M600i, and we don't have a P990 test using.

It is our understanding based on customer feedback that both phones work perfectly with ActiveSync on 4SmartPhone.

We are planning on upgrading our Synchronica front-end before the end of the year, but the priority for this has dropped a lot as people prefer to use ActiveSync/DirectPush whenever possible with SE and Nokia phones.
