Help on V3c/m

I have a V3c, but I heard the V3m is the same phone + media player and micro sd slot.... so i am sure this question pertains to both. I love the phone, but there are a couple of things that I can't figure out and I am hoping can be changed. The first is when I recieve a text message from anyone, their personal ringer plays and I always think they are calling so I pick up the phone and feel like an idiot because no one is there. Is there any way to change the tone of recieving text message? I just want one universal ringtone or small mp3 file for all text messages. The second is viewing missed calls and the times of the missed calls. When I go into recent calls, I can see who has called and which calls were missed, but I can't seem to figure out how to view when the call was recieved or missed. On my old motorola and all others I have seen has this option.... and I've used it a lot, so I wish to figure this out.

Thanks for any help.

So i figured out the recent call time thing. All you have to do is highlight that contact and push the center button and the details will show up... very easy, but something I couldn't figure out for the life of me.

However, with the ringer id being applied to text message, I am still unaware of how to change that. Any help????

I noticed this too after I flashed to the Motorola UI. One of about two things I miss from the Verizon UI. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way around it.

I have the same problem and it's EXTREMELY annoying.

On the Moto UI you can assign people to a group, and then assign the group a ringtone.

Does this stop the text message from having a ringer id associated with it? Does the contact then ring as per the group's ringer, and the text with the normal text ringer?

EDIT: crap, that doesn't work. I just tried it. I set up a contact for my gmail address, no ringer id but assigned it to the Personal group (which has a ringtone associated with it) ... sent myself a text from my gmail account and it rang like a personal contact was calling me.
... sorry for the wasted post

Why not just turn the ringer ID's off, then set a specific tone for voicemail, text, etc. and be done with it? The caller id is to see who it is, no need to have a specific ringtone for each contact in your phone.

I would rather have a ringtone for a specific person than no ringtone for text message. I like to know who is calling as soon as the phone rings... So i take it no one else found out a way past this???

I would rather have a regular notification for text messages and not look like an idiot trying to answer the phone when I have a text message.

Yep, not me and that is why I am trying to figure this out... but I guess I will have to look like an idiot answering my phone when no one is there because it doesn't seem to be something that is doable on this phone

I just always check the outside LCD before I open the flip, so I've never had that problem.

...Not to say it's never going to happen, though.
