On my Pearl, the left convenience key is defaulted to the voice dialer. I have programmed it to open my calendar, but when I hold the button down for a couple seconds, the voice dialer still activates and overrides the calendar. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Nope...But I personally like it...I have profiles set there so pretty much the button is a quick button for both...

Simple fix, don't hold the button down if you want to use the calendar...

True. But if my phone is in my pocket, it might go off. If I am trying to remove it from my holster and I press it on accident, the voice dialer makes a loud beep. When the voice dialer goes off, it's usually an accident.

BUMP

Has anyone found a fix for this?

My left convenience key was always dual function until I loaded the .64 OS onto it. Now when I press the left convenience key it only activates what I have set it to. It no longer has the dual function which for me I don't mind since I don't use voice dial.

Where can we get the .64 OS for the Pearl?

For anyone experiencing this problem, download the .69 OS off of BlackBerry's website. I just installed it onto my Pearl, and the left convenience key only performs the function you set it to: it won't activate voice dialing if you hold the key down anymore.

I confirmed this. I don't use voice dialing, so it was a biatch when it wouldn't open my contacts.
