Samsung A707 Video Question

Currently I have a Samsung D807. I like this phone and its slider form factor, but the thing that irks me is how the screens are always downgraded from QVGAs to a lower resolution. The screen is still good, but videos turn out really small and pixelated.
My question is, for videos that you put on the memory card, like movies and such, how do they come out on the screen? Is it possible to watch landscape mode? I know that this is still quite rare, but for a phone with a 2.3 inch QVGA, it seems like a good oppurtunity. Also, does anyone know how good the quality of the screen is, and what kind of formats it takes?

Good luck on that answer. Been trying to get someone to answer whether it is even possible to view movies on it. I have yet to see that function in any reviews.
