i have had my phone for maybe 2 weeks now, its an L7 slvr, got it from cingular....

itunes wont upload all the songs i wish, for example....i got this playlist (cd) with 20 songs, it wont upload them all, it will upload 3/20....when i try and upload them one by one it wont let me drag it over my phone icon. There are certain songs it lets me upload, and others that it wont.....why is this?

As you mentioned (CD), did you first ripped them into MP3s/192 kbps , so that you can transfer them via iTunes, as anything higher will take up more disk space on your phone and it might not play. Btw, you also need the iTunes phone driver installed on your computer - just making sure.

i can upload songs - just not all the songs i want.....i have over 6000 songs on my computer, and for example a song thats been on the computer for a while...an older song will upload fine, but when i go to upload lets say a new cd i just got, it wont let me at all - it just doesnt even start the upload, it gives me an X when i go to hover over the phone.....i can put them on my ipod, i just cant put them on the phone.

I have a feeling the songs may be copyrighted somehow, or for some reason the phone isnt accepting the file, while the ipod is...... im so confused =\

as for itune phone drivers........ if my phone accepts certain songs, its fine no? i dont recall installing any drivers...my phone works perfectly fine with motorola phone tools, and itunes for the most part....just that i cant put certain songs on the phone =\ (i can put them on the phone memory no problem, just cant upload them on itunes)

at least i got some progress - i took one of the songs that owulnd upload, and i converted it to an mp3 again.....(it already was an mp3 - but i redid it anyhow) uploaded the new mp3 to itunes, and then it lets me put it on the phone =\

im guessing there is some sort of protection on the file that it wont let me put it on the phone....(but it will on the ipod? =\)

is there an easier way to fixing this without converting all my songs again? and if not, anyone know of a way to do batch conversions?

just an update, i noticed the songs are in 256 bitrate, i converted them to 192 and they upload - only problem is i cant do this to over 6000 songs =\

and also - why are the 350 bit rate files uploading? but not the 256?

is the bit rate the problem?

is the bit rate the problem?

seems like it. Just managed to create a smart play list just for the phone. There's also a pref. menu for the phone when you connect when the phone shows up in iTunes, that automates the bit rate before uploading to your phone.

What's your track limit on your L7? as you could also increase the limit (depends on the size of your media card) by using the Sound Menu (better sound) to play tracks uploaded into your media card. I am not certain as I am not well verse with the L7. Anyway, that's what I did on my V3i.

im pretty sure the song limit is 100. although i had 110 once.... etiher way i dont car abot song limit cause i hardly listen to it - only at the gym and stuff.....but its annoying to have to fix the bit rate for songs to upload them =\

yeah I had 52/50 limit loaded once but found out it couldn't play. As I've mentioned above, you don't need to fix the bit rate for each track, iTunes will do it for you under Phone prefs. when u hook up with your computer in Itunes.
