Ok since we got the A707 in my store I wanted to play around with it. I really liked the phone. The screen is absolutely gorgous, and the camera appears to be very good.

BUT! I ran some audio tests to compare it to my LG CU500, and it couldn't compare to the LG. I am not talking about volume when talking to someone, I didn't test that since you really can't test it in a quiet store, and I couldn't take the phone out to a noisy place to try it.

So anyway, playing music with the flip closed wasn't too bad, but it's full volume was about the same as my CU500 at HALF. The LG at full volume is very loud when playing music.

Ok next test, MobiTV. That was horrible. I could barely hear it at full volume standing like 2 feet away. Full volume on that was about 1/3 of the LG's.

Next, MobiRadio. Basically the same as MobiTV.

Cingular Video's volume was also LOW. Granted CV isn't much louder on the CU500. For some reason CV's stuff is recorded at a lower volume.

In regards to watching video on the A707. It is a bit grainy compared to the CU500. I think someone is right when they said in another thread that CV's videos might be formated for the smaller screen like the CU500.

MobiTV was not as fluent on the A707 as on the CU500. Again it might be because of the screen size. Also I think the A707 might need a faster processing unit to handle the videos.

Well that is my observations. I was very tempted to buy the A707 even though I just got my CU500 a month ago. The screen size and the camera were the major selling points for me. Unfortunately the audio is typical Samsung and doesn't compare the the CU500. Actually out of all the phone's I've had in a long time, the CU500 definately has the loudest speaker in it.

If I had to pick something about the CU500 I don't like compared to the A707, is that on the LG you cannot sort your songs in the MP3 player, the the Samsung you can.
