So i got this 903 with HK firmware..
now i have 2 903's, but with this new one I'm having trouble with the reception.. i can leave the phone in one spot, and one minute it will have full bars.. the next 1 bar.. i try to make a call and it disconnects the call, then for a brief time show NO reception.. then jumps right back to full bars and i can make a call again
my other 903 (running euro) which i use also has no problems with reception.. i can call from the exact same spot the other 903 was in..
anyone got any clue what's going on?

I've noticed that with mine too, but I just ignore it. Network problems perhaps?

no i t couldn't be, because i've been using my black 903 for 3 months and have never had one disconnected call, or NO reception in the mall
whit the 903 i bought for my friend it's got reception 90% of the time, then for like 2-3 minutes it's just gone.. none, nadda, then all of a sudden full bars

My 903 is starting to act up a bit as well. When I first got it, it used to send sms almost instantly. Now it takes a while b4 the sending icon goes away. Any1 know why?

I'm not noticing this more and more, especially at work. The signal strength will fall to 1 bar, then i'll get 0 bars and the little red slash circle thing meing no signal, then bam full bars again.
Anyone have any ideas?

the HK firmware is alot more jumpy than other firmwares (in laymans terms). the HK firmware refreshes the signal much more frequently than the other firmwares. the Japanese firmware for instance, refreshes it signal slower and takes an average and displays that.

hm.. i haven't used the HK one for a very long time. but the hybrid firmware didnt' jump around alot.. but then again it was a mish mash of firmwares

thnx kev, i ws thinking the same thing that it must be "refreshing" or resetting a lot. I think i figured it out, i think it has to do with network settings
i've placed it on "GSM" as before it was on auto
it seems to be a more steady signal now (not so jumpy and usually at 4 bars). I checked my other 903 that's on Euro and it's on GSM option also
So I'll check it out over the next few days and hopefully that fixes it.
by the way nice to hear from you tim, haven't seen u around in awhile.

I find my 903 can be jumpy at times, and other times it averages the value out over several seconds. Seems to be temperamental (or its CPU load drops and jumps a lot).
Doesn't affect the actual reception though when a call is running.
