Does anyone know or has anyone tried to get this phone to play mp3 ringers. My buddy just got one of them from Bell mobility (cdma) and im curious if I can do it for him. I have a dku-2 and diego that I used for my 6265i from Telus and they are quite similar phones in options that's why i think it can be done. If anyone has tried it please let me know. Thank you.

That phone is unavailable for VZW as is the 6265i. Try asking in the Bell subforum.

OKay here the thing, Bell Mobility want us to spend our money so they block the nokia 6275i feature of setting our mp3 song as ringer... i called nokia and by default you can but bell go it custom made.

I found a way to change this setting all what you need is to buy a USB cable for nokia from ebay or whatever place you like. (Around $10) then you need to download Nokia Diego 3.08 only. Search for it on yahoo or google

install then connect the phone click on phone settings then on your right hand side click on read all from phone you will see a big list click on the "-" minuses so you can see better then under general menu & user settings click on ringtone setting on the right hand side select under value option 0 (included for all file types) and then click on write all to phone.

That is it your rock and roll and to bad for bell they are to greedy

funny thing... i called bell and asked if they stock usb cables for the 6275i... they said there is no reason why I would need one...

Like flashing my phone isnt a good enough reason?

Bell knows about hacking the phone via USB cable so they don't sell them, it would be too easy for anyone to unlock the features on their crippled phones. Besides that, once its hacked, it works really well, got mine hacked and it rocks, mp3 as ringtones is the best feature of the world.

can you hack your phone with the program using your bluetooth (I have a laptop that has bluetooh also)

Posted by: esquire81

nope... i cant even seem to hack it with the cable.

Posted by: shortstuff_001

yes you can I know that much and I also know you can't hack it via bluetooth diego doesn't support it I am however in the works of creating a program to fix this problem also Esquire81 you have a newer model of fone than me you might need a newer version of diego or your cable is a defect. Which diego version do you have?

Posted by: esquire81

I've used 3.08. Im pretty sure the cable is ok, Its just that the software conflicts with diego.

Thanks for the tip,

I stumbled on this post while searching why my phone wouldn't take mp3's as ringtone even if I checked the features before buying it and this was an incentive for my purchase...

Worked for me perfectly, yay !

Are they blocking any other feature while we're at it ?

Thanks again
