I posted this question a while ago and never got a solution. So, I'm hoping someone has figured it out now...

I purchased a VK2000 in Asia. It does NOT have the menu option to change network frequencies. Does anyone know of a code to do this? I have noticed that some companies in the UK now offer an "unlock" code. Would this solve the problem is is that merely unlocking from carrier specific SIM cards?

If you are still looking for the solution - no need for an unlock code, simply bring up the menu, go to Calls, scroll down the menu to Select Band, choose the 850/1900 band, confirm by pressing the centre action key and exit.

The default phone menu is four zeros - 0000 if you ever need it (for example to reset the phone to factory settings).

The problem is that I do NOT have the Select Band option within the menu. I think I've tried reseting it to factory settings, and that didn't do anything. In fact, that defaults it back to the Chinese text instead of English.... Again, I think it's because the phone was purchased in Asia.

Any additional help is greatly appreciated. Alternatively, let me know if anyone wants to buy it! Thanks.

I also just purchased VK2000 in Korea and assummed it was unlocked. However, when I got home my T-Mobile SIM does not work in it. Any clues on how to unlock it?
