i was thinking about getting a sidekick 3, but i noticed that there is not voice dialing. this is an important feature for the bluetooth in my car. i need to be able to say a name or number so i do not have to take out the phone. i dont know about about sidekicks, but i am used to pocket pcs, so i can just put on an app for whatever is missing. can this be done for like voice dial, or alarm with the sidekick 3?
also, is there something like a reminder or whatever in the calendar for it to ring, because there is no alarm?

No you cannot install 3rd party software that is not in the SK download catalog itself. If you want to download something, you then might have to pay a fee. It ranges from FREE to $9.99 (?) and it will automatically start downloading to your phone. If you DO decide you don't want the app anymore, you can easily delete it HOWEVER if you want it again, you'd have to pay the fee again to have it dowlnoaded to your phone.

Yes there is a reminder for the calendar. That also works sorta like an alarm clock. You can also download an alarm clock too, for $4.99.

you dont have to pay again.. if you uninstall an app then its not on your phone but can be reinstalled for free. if you DISCARD an app then its gone and you need to repurchase it.

this phone is mainly for IM, E-mail, Web [for people who dont need broadband], and well.. thats about it..

It truly does almost anything..

from crunching calories with CalorieCruncher II, to a mobile Photoshop with Art Pallet Pro, Countless games, Spreadsheets with SideSheet, and a bunch of others..

The data plan is a GREAT value.. 20 bucks gets you Unlimited text, IM, E-mail, Web [HTML sites, this device doesnt use wap 2.0]

Oh, and not to mention the greatness of GSM's sim card. Lol.
