Damn the 4500 does not support this? or is the code not yet written for it?

No code will enable the support of downloadable ringtones. A highly modified firmware/software for the phone may do the trick, but the technology for the handset and provider must be available anyways for it to work.

well if we ask Sanyo to add the feature, and enough people ask for it, will they do it... I hate most of the ringtones on the phone even the generic ones... I wanna change them.

I highly doubt they will administer the request, whether there is enough people complaining about it or not. You are stuck with what you've got. The melody ringers are cheezy, I give you that, but the generic oscillating ringers are pretty dandy. Much better than the the 40 crap ringtones on Nokias.
I might add though, that the Sanyo 5000 is available and can support customizable ringtones. However, $500. Pretty steep.
If downloadable ringtones if your cake, look into GSM phones, or wait for the next generation handsets. I'm sure this feature will be implemented.

Plus you are stuck with the fact that memory in phones is at a definite premium, and adding files as large as 100k midi files would more than likely require somewhat more than what is included.

Well, if this phone can handle 10-15 songs which are in MIDI format, 30 voice activated numbers, and 10 x 30 seconds of voice memo, then I think there might be enough memory to sacrefice/erase some of the original midis to replace them with new ones...
