I just sold my smt5600 and my only regret is size. I love my Trion/TYTN but I realy would like a weekend/ backup phone. I have never had a PC sync phone that was not WM and I'm wondering if I get the new A707 will it in any way afect my Active Sync. What if anything sould I be concerned about?
Thanks in advance.

I just purchased a Samsung A707 to hold me over till the 8525 is released on Nov. 16. I have had a Audiovox 5600 also since Nov. of 2004. I have loved that phone long time and even with a cracked screen I will miss it. That being said, I am quite impressed with the A707. I was able to sync all my contacts from the AudioVox through Outlook to the Samsung in a pretty strait forward manner. Samsung's software doesn't seem to like having active sync active at the same time but I am not sure. I am just now experimenting and have not eliminated all possible variables to explain what is happening. The short answer is they seem to be co-existing reasonably well so far. Like you, i am planning on using the 8525 and keeping the Samsung A707 as a backup phone. By the way, the A707 can be tethered via the data cable and I was quite impressed with the speed. I got about 1072 kb/s (134 KB/s) on my first connection. So far I would give a pretty strong recomendation for the A707 and it co-exists with active sync just fine so far.
Yes, I am a working professional DJ, not a bedroom wannabe.
