So What's The Story With The Blue V3i?

Ok ok ok, I am absolutely confused.

So I just called up at least 20 Cingular stores to see what colors of the V3i they had. Most stores said they had the grey one, some said they had the grey one and V3r - red one, and one guy said he had the grey one but could also order the blue one for me. That's when I asked and he told me it was unlocked.. hmm. I really don't like unlocked phones at all and think it would be best to play it safe and get a branded one.

So I also call these other 2 stores, and they tell me they only have 1 color.. the grey-BLUE one. And I say "Do you mean the grey one with the purplish tint?" And the guy says, "No, it looks like a navy blue color to me."

So now I'm wondering if he means the gun metal grey one or the actual blue one I'm looking for.

So then I call 611 and I get Cingular on the line.. Surprisingly, the guy says that there WAS a blue V3i. I made sure and asked him if it was the V3i - with iTunes, and he said yes.

So then he went on to say that it was a promotional type thing and it was on Cingular's website for 2 or 3 months and he doesn't know when or if it is going to be back up.

I'm eligible to upgrade in a week but I think I should just wait a couple of weeks to see if they come out with the blue one.. which would also be a great Christmas gift. Next weekend I'm probably going to go around my neighborhood and also Manhattan to check out the Cingular stores I called to see what they have.. So what do you guys think about all of this? I'm extremely confused and am not sure what to believe or what to do. Help me out guys! Thanks.

I may be wrong, but I look at the Cingular site at least once a week and the only blue V3 phone is the regular V3 Razr that is still on there. The V3r is a MP3 player, but it does not contain itunes. The V3i is the only Razr with itunes (at the moment) and as far as I know, only comes in the gunmetal (dark silver) color. Someone correct me please if I'm wrong.
