Manually activating message fetch from server ?

Before the I880, I had a boost mobile i45 phone. I had problems with the text messaging mostly not being received unless I turned my phone off and then on. It would then check the server and wham I had my emails. It seems that restarting my phone starts the message server check. I thought that buying an I880 would get rid of that but I have the same problem. is there anyway I can tell the phone to check the server's for the emails manually instead of having to turn the phone on and off?

Just re-open your inbox. This sounds like a provisioning issue dude.
