08p Firmware for A1200

Well here it is! Alot of people have asked me for a link and here you go!

http://rapidshare.com/files/3538870/08p.rar.html

Now to install firmware you will need two things, one is drivers for the phone. Hopefully someone else can post the drivers, and second is Rsd lite. I use 2.8, but i believe the latest is 3.2

** Remember to backup your contacts and calendar stuff before flashing... When you flash all your phone data will be deleted.

*** Also remember flashing your phone does "Void your warranty" should not be done if you have no ideal of what your doing. Learn a little bit about it if your willing to do it. Its a easy, and safe process really. So dont worry im just stating the truth. I nor any one else is responsible for any damage. ***

Good luck and enjoy!

I've actually got the motpcdrivers.rar file off motorolafans... just snagged it today as I was having problems getting my phone to connect to RadioComm...

I've got no way to host the rar file, but could email it to whoever wants to host it.

Hey Alpha. I flashed to .08p and am having issues.
I am using T-Mobile's service and here are some issues I have noticed with the flash.
After going over my settings 5 times, I have concluded that there is some compatibility issues with this new flash.

I have not been able to send email from gmail on the A1200, but I can recieve email on gmail. I can receive and send from my cox email account on my A1200.

I can send/receive text messages but I can only receive picturemail... My A1200 will not send picturemail.

Any thoughts?

yes, the settings you have are probably incorrect. Once motorolafans.com is back up fully check the tmobile settings that are listed. I dont know the settings for tmobile so i cant help you out there. Just wait until the site is back and your problem will go away. :-)

Well, Alpha... I naturally assumed that too. However. I should not be able to recieve picturemail. Thats the thing... Its all or nothing with the system. If you cannot receive, you should not be able to send, however, I can receive picturemail, I just can't send them. I have had this issue before with the RAZR, and it turned out to indeed be incorrect settings. The only thing I can think of is that my port settings for t-zones is wrong. Also, my default browser that comes native to the A1200 will not function. It states network problems. But, when I go to use Opera mini, I get online and surf with no problems. It doesn't make sence to me. The gmail issue could be port settings as well, I dunno. I've compared my settings with the gmail pop settings on the website, and the only thing I can think of is that my phone needs a different port to send email through. Hopefully the other site will be back up soon. Thanks.

Okay, so i flashed my phone to 08p, but when i get to the point where it says "Please manually power up this phone." I do that but nothing happens in RSD Lite. Plus my battery completely drained to 5%. Should i just ignore it and just use the phone now?

Start it up and check to see if the firmware actually went through. You should be fine though.

awesome thanks! I'll try flashing it later on this afternoon and see what happens. if it doesn't work i'm gonna run down the hall and beat up some engineers until they fix it

Posted by: MingUser

Has anyone played with later versions of firmware? .09p? .10p? .11p? .xxp?

Posted by: Alpha43

none are out to d.l, and as for as i am aware they arent released by motorola yet.

Ahh okay, I don't wanna risk my phone. I'd hate to be without it. Are there flashing/upgrade instructions floating around? I can get into the MBM FLASH MODE and RSD Lite finds the .08p file...do I just hit Start and pray?

Posted by: Alpha43

Hey are you enjoying 08p? :-)

everything is fine when flashing to .08, but the only thing i hate is that i dont have the ENGLISHBOARD for textmessage if have turkish and frenchboard? which is weird, how do i fix that?

Posted by: Redphi

I have R532C2_G_11.32.23P does that mean i have firmware 23P can i update to either .08p or anything else, BIG PLEASa!! ;-)

Posted by: Alpha43

No, you cannot flash to anything except 25p or 30p. Anything else will brick your phone.
