V635 No Recharge?

Lol so I have gone in and out of this phone when i was first learning how to mod...I did everything to this phone

but now comes some hardware issues

If you take a look at the old style phones where you have to plug a clip in charger into charge, the spot has 3 pins one of mine seems to be missing and caused me to buy a new L7 and not charge the v635.

I have options here though. Charge another phone with the same battery and then swap all the time. Or just use my L7, but i love the 635

So is there a way to repair that? You think shops know how to repair that and is it possible?

is it still covered under warranty by motorola??

The long way around it would be to take the battery out and use a desktop charger to charge the phone, but then yet again, what if you want to do a firmware upgrade?? You'd risk making it a brick if the battery goes out during the upgrade process...

Motorola would still be able to fix your phone even if it is out of warranty. I believe they only charge $30 USD to fix the charging port. That fee may be different for you though since you are in Canada.

I don't know a whole lot about Rogers but you may be able to bring it to one of their stores and they may be able to fix it on-site without sending it out. They may also charge a fee to do this.

There really isn't a good way to fix the problem yourself unless you understand what you are doing and know how to properly solder something.
