I'm using this too (actually I'm using Smartphone connect). Is there a difference on speed? If so, do you know how much?

I'm using the old grandfathered MediaWorks ($20/month, unlimited data, 1000 SMS, 200(?) MMS) with the BlackJack -

In Edison NJ, I was able to use 3G - dslreports.com mobile speed test clocked me in at 710K - Web is fine, email is fine, DirectPush is working flawlessly.

Don't let anyone tell you that you NEED something else.

(For what it's worth, I think the original MediaWorks is still the best deal out there - if you have a later incarnation, consider switching to either the $20 or $30 MediaMax)

I picked my Blackjack up today in Houston. This morning I called over 20 stores in the area and they were all sold out. I found one in northwest Houston that had one left, and they were holding it for me. However, they told me they wouldn't give me the $100 rebate unless I upgraded my grandfathered mediaworks plan to the current data plan. I didn't bother arguing.

I eventually found another Blackjack at another store. The sales rep was very helpful and gave me the phone, the rebate, and left my grandfathered mediaworks plan the way it is.

I'm having no problems with any data features. About all the mediaworks package lacks is a dedicated IP and VPN capability.
