The end button only stops working after switching between 2 calls.
A reset fixes this. Its annoying, but I don't get more then one call at a time too often, maybe once a week.

Thats the pain of being bleeding edge.

Here you go...

*#1546792*#
Select option 3
Select option 5
Change from "Auto" setting to "GSM"

This will block the phone from using the 3G network. Changing this on my found probably more than doubled my battery life.

Posted by: CocheseUGA

Does anyone know if it makes a difference if we don't live in a 3G area?

My BJ just took me off of Daylight Savings Time. I thought that I had handled the problem with the patch last spring.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Any suggestions re how to fix?

Posted by: CocheseUGA

Did you try making a call or rebooting?

Could be related to the ime index issue SC and AZ was having a month or so ago.

Posted by: DaveTreo300600

Did both. No change. Is anyone else in SoCal or Ariz--or anywhere--having the same problem?

Turning off bluetooth seems to save me a good amount of power.
However, I usually want to use my bluetooth headset at night. On my old phone, I'd beable to turn on the headset and enable bluetooth as the phone is ringing (or during the call) but that does not seem to work on the blackjack.

So now I just keep the bluetooth on all the time.

I was thinking, it would be nice if there were a way I could set a schedule to have the bluetooth enable only at certain times of the day.
or even better, whenever I'm getting a call.

Posted by: player911

Have you tried the "FN + B" shortcut to turn on Bluetooth?

Yes, however that has nothing to do with what I was asking.

1. FN B does not work for me if the phone is currently ringing or if I am currently on a call. Maybe there is too long of a delay, I dont know.

2. I was looking for a way to have the bluetooth enable automatically only when a call is being received or based on some sort of schedule, and then be off at other times.

If you go to your home screen while on the call and then press `Fn+B` it will start up Bluetooth at which time you can activate your headset and it will pick up the call.

Have you checked into a scheduler program like CTScheduler? They have a freeware version that you can use and then, buy the more robust version if you need it. ( http://www.connectivetools.com/ctschedulerlt.html )

I don't know of anything that would only activate BT when you need it.

Just leave bluetooth on, why bother yourself further. You'd prolly waste more energy turning it off and on then keeping it on in standby.

is there a program or tool that can be used to find the subsidiary unlock code? Or a program to unlock it all together?
I cancelled my contract with AT&T about 6 months ago so calling them for it doesn't really seem like an option.

Posted by: mrcamp

You have to do it via a 3rd party then. Check the market place here or just go to ebay.

Okay I know.... old hack, old problem. I'm a noob and I really want to get that stupid start up / shut down noise off of there. The hacks I've found online don't really tell me clearly how to do it. Someone please help this pathetic old noob!

Has anybody figured out how to get the camera to take the picture as soon as you hit the key to take the picture? I hit mine, the screen freezes, so I move, then the camera take the picture. I seem to never get the picture I wanted.

Have you tried i607.org?

They have lots of tips and hacks on there. I'm almost sure they have the procedure for changing/removing the startup/shutdown noise. I'm not sure if you replace the audio files with 0kb files, or if it is a simple reg edit.

I DO know that Da_G's latest cooked beta of WM6 actually has an option in the Settings, with a drop down box, to allow you to choose your startup/shutdown options or to remove them all together.

i WANT TO KNOW WHY WE HAVE TO PAY FOR VOICE COMMAND ON THE ATT BJ .. BUT THE SPRINT ACE HAS IT ALREADY AS PART OF THE PHONE,,,

That link didn't work... I use Blackjacki607.net for my tips and tricks / discussions.

Here is a way to fix BJ-1 and BMW Bluetooth issues.

Here are the steps:
1. Get a registry editor for the blackjack and connect through activesync
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AudioGateway
3. Delete the subfolder called NoAutoConDevice (there is a subfolder here actually named BMW)

Then its done, the phone will work with BMW bluetooth now!

IT IS TRULY AMAZING THAT NO REPS FROM EITHER AT&T OR SAMSUNG could figure this out and it took some hackers on the internet to solve this problem that is screwing with so many people....

is there a way to keep have the phone vibrate as well as play the ringtone during an incoming call? or is it just one or the other?

Yes. Go into profiles and edit the Normal profile by changing it to "vibrate and ring" under "ring type." There are also other choice like vibrate then ring etc.

got it, thanks!

is there a registry setting to save SMS messages to my storage card?
I tend to hold on to them and have held on to them for a year, now my storage memory is full.

Settings/Security/Device Lock allows you to set an inactivity time to go to automatic lock. You have to set a PIN or Password to unlock the phone. Once you set the automatic lock, you can let the delay set the lock or manually lock it as before. Pressing any key while locked brings up the PIN/Password prompt. Enter the PIN/Password and press the Unlock softkey.

When you are going through the email settings for an email account, look under Advanced Settings for the Outgoing Mail Server. You can choose to delete messages on the server when they is deleted on the phone or leave messages on the server. Apparently the default setting deletes the messages on the server when they are deleted on the phone.

I pointed to the wrong place in the settings because I was not looking at the phone as I typed the reply. You go into Menu/Options/Account Settings for the specific email account, hit Next until you get to the screen with Automatic Send/Receive on it. Click on Advanced Settings on that page and you can choose to Delete message on the server or leave them on the server when you delete them on the phone. Hit Done and next until you get to Finish.

Other Microsoft Smartphones probably have the same choices.

Visit www.myblackjack2.com and look at some of the hacks there. There is a .cab file you can load that will disable that business, along with several cool others.

On a Blackjack I, is there a way to move the messages to the storage card or clear memory besides-
clearing IE memory
deleting messages
deleting notes/appts./contacts/favorites
rebooting?
and my Remove Programs doesn't show anything?
(since I've tried all that already and my memory is 54 mb)

even though my ringtones and pictures are on my storage card, do they get copied to the device storage?

Posted by: efparri

I have a ringtone that I have stored on the microSD card. Occasionally the phone will default to the standard ringtone rather than that one I selected for a certain contact. I guess that sometimes the card is too slow responding so it switches to the default ringtone. To avoid that happening I copied that ringtone to internal memory.

There are programs that can offload lots of stuff to your memory card. But the 54mb free your seeing is pretty good. There is 128mb to use and the OS takes most of that up.

I typically only store several key items on my phone. Ringtones, backgrounds, Resco Explorer, Resco Registry, and WinRar. Everything else is installed to my microSD card.

I keep those on there because those programs are basic programs you want to have access to in case your microSD card dies. For the ringtone and background... it'll always speed up your phone if stored locally.

Earlier I wrote about using a PIN/Password enabled Device Lock. Iwas using the PIN enabled Device Lock. I was having trouble with 3G voice so I decided to reset the phone to see if it helped. I did a full backup and reset the phone. Now the Device Lock works without a PIN and still has a timout value. It requires me to press the power button but I only have to press the Unlock softkey. I do not have to press the "*" after that.

By the way, resetting the phone did not fix the 3G voice problem. I'll order a ten-pack of AT&T 3G SIM cards and see if the problem goes away when I activate one of them.
