Commission question.

I got hired passed my background and got my start date but I am not sure I heard that the commissions are not got right now. My future store co workers told me that the top dog only makes like $1300 in commissions. I find that rather on the low side. I now you make what you put into it but that figure sounds low in a medium busy store. Any comments. Thanks

Dude it really depends on your store. Our top dog makes almost 3 grand a month in commissions. It really boils down to 2 things 1). How much traffic is coming in and 2). How effectively close business with them.

My average commission is usually about 1200 and thats because the opps have been slow. My features make up most of my check. So just keep all this in mind. And dont worry.

Is that $1200 take home?

It all depends on your stores volume & your closing rate (how good you are). If your coworkers make like $1300 gross, they either aren't very good at what they do, or it's a slow store. A medium store in my market should pull a good rep $2000 plus a month. I've worked slow stores & busy stores, and pulled a very decent buck from each one because I made what I put into it.

it is about what you put into it. i worked at a slow store. but i went and got business. average month was around 18-2200. a good month put me over 3k.

Yeah not to sound redundant, but it depends. I avrage around 2000 take home, but the holidays are coming up, so i expect that to grow. It also depends greatly on what you sell. Those features will jump you up, also colsing higher rate plans. Try to make your sales worth the time, and really go for the good stuff. You wont get more for selling a more expensive phone, but the higer the phone the more features available for it, thus the more money oppertunities for you.
Also make it stick. Charge backs will kill you. Close a sale and go out of your way to keep them. Make them your customer, and they will come to you with the issues, and potentially more lines, and you will get the save opertunity and try to keep that commission. We have a pretty long time (6 months) for the charge back, which is longer than some other carriers, so you really gota stick it out.
Good Luck, commission can be the best thing that ever happened to you, or the biggest pain in your a**...

(Sorry if this sounds kinda like corp. nonsence, but its all personal exp)

I work in an agent location that's not really THAT busy (grand scheme of things and all), and I bring home 1300...So if you're in a decently busy COR store and bringin in 1300, I gots to say he's just not applying himself.

Likeeveryone else said, the sale is what you make of it. So you may as well pull everything you can out of it.

I've seen people make 5 gross and 3.5 take home, in a slow store. It's all about features.

One Love,
Prom

P.S. It's actually harder IMHO to make good money in a busy store.

Yeah, That's where most of my money is made. I'm at 27 or so an opp right now. But I've done a few BB's this motnh and a couple of PDAs so I look for that to tank quickly. This just feels like a PPD Monday.
