Hi All,

I just bought a new V635 from an ebay seller, not knowing it was coming from China! All of the phone's menus are in English, until I try to add a contact. It let's me add the number, but when I attempt to add a contact name it adds Chinese symbols in place of English characters.

Since I hadn't planned on learning Chinese any time soon, I think this phone needs to be flashed with another firmware huh?

I've downloaded RSD lite 3.2, I have the Moto Phone Tools 4.x working fine, and an original Moto USB cable. What firmware should I flash with?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i'm not sure if this will help, but check to see if your itap is set to english.

I checked that, and it doesn't make a difference whether it's set to TAP or iTAP, still the Chinese characters!

i mean't is "entry setup"t set to tapand/or itap english

Selecting both TAP & iTAP in English make no difference. Although I can see English characters in a small right hand window, when I select an english character it places a Chinese character on the text line.

I'm assuming this is a Chinese version firmware that has English selections, and because this area defaults to Chinese is why I need to flash it with another firmware...

Or?

Should my posts be in the firmware section?
