I love everything about my 8125 except the reception.

Is the Blackjack any better?

Just was wondering before I go drop 300 bucks on a phone.

Thanks

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 8125: HTC-8100/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320))

I also have the 8125 and am also concerned about the same thing. Can some others share some info. Thx.

I just switched, and so far I have noticed I get better reception but more importantly clearer and less staticy calls.

well I only had the 8125 for a week or so, but I can tell you that i get much better reception with the blackjack. The school i teach in has thick concrete walls and I never got reception in the basement, with the 8125 or the 807, but now i get 2-3 bars.

UMTS will give you better sounding calls. Calls between two UMTS devices on the same network wil sound best (thanks to AMR-WB).

I had the same problem with my 8125. I upgraded the radio rom on my phone from 2.25 to 2.47 from XDA Developers. Reception is much better, cleaner and more sensitive,
