I upgraded to the 8525 today and the CS rep said that per thier upgrade policy I need to return the old phone to them. Can someone please explain to me why that is. I mean I piad full price for the 8125 when it came out so this really seems to baffle me, but she insisted that I do so.

I also get a 50% discount on upgrades and instead of taking 50% off the 2 year contract extension price of $ 449 which would have been around $225 she took 50% off the full $599 and charged me $325.

Is this correct or should I call and get this corrected?

Thanks

When did you purchase your 8125? If you paid full price for the 8125 then it is yours. If you upgrades to the 8125 and then within the 30 return period you exchanged it fir the 8525 then yes you need to return it and you should of paid the difference in price.

To your second question: With IRU contracts the price of the phone would either be the standard 2yr price or the percentage off of the full retail price of the handset and usually this is only for regular phones and not data devices.
If you only paid 325 for you 8525... cheers that a good deal!!
