Speed up 3G on BlackJack, 8525. Faster "Connecting...Locating....Opening...."

I posted this in one of the blackjack threads but thought I would start a new thread so others could see this and it will help with 8525 and other phones in addition to the blackjack.

I was initially disappointed with 3G browsing on the blackjack because it was taking 5-10 seconds to connect, locate, open a new web site. After opening a site then 3G was pretty fast.

Then I came across this tip below which noticeably improves the connect,locate, open time on most web sites. This really improves the 3G web experience.

You just need to change your dns connection settings:

http://www.opendns.com/start/windows_mobile5.php

Changing the DNS servers might lead to faster access time for the the first time only for a website as the DNS lookup is done only the first time ... There are other similar solutions using level 1 DNS servers ..

OK, are these similar solutions better? I am just looking to improve the IE lag whatever way possible.

yeah .. the basic idea is to bypass the notoriously slow Cingular DNS servers .. and use any public DNS servers which will be comparitively faster ..
