ActiveSync email sent from device shows up BLANK

I have ActiveSync set up and push working, but here's what's happening when I
send mail from the device:
If I send a new email fom the outlook mail account to another exchange
recipient in our organization, works great, no problems.
If I send a new email from the outlook mail account to someone outside of
our organization, they receive the mail, but the body of the email is blank,
empty.
If I reply to an email that originated from my desktop outlook account, it
works fine regardless of who I forward the message to.
If I reply to a message that originated from someone on the outside, the
reply is received, with the body of the email blank, empty.
Needless to say, this is driving me absolutely crazy, and there is no
information that I've found through exhaustive research on the net.
Can someone please guide me to a solution?
