I've been applying like mad for jobs since I graduated from university this summer (Accounting major). There's plenty of jobs in my area, but two things seem to trip me up when I apply:

1) Lack of experience (well that's because you aren't willing to hire me...)

2) No work references.

I've been working in CS for 2 1/2 years. Haven't had a bad review in almost two. My other work references have all left town, and my team leads are forbidden (punishable by firing) from providing references. I'm using two professors and an old volunteer leader.

Is this Cingular policy, or just the policy for my outsourcer?

Welcome to the real world. When I graduated from college w/ a management degree, I couldn't find a job either. Eventually the right opportunity came along but it took time.
